Private Wine & Cava Tour in Penedés with Tapas 

Penedés land is between the sea and the mountains, and this influence of the sun and the sea

makes that Penedés region is considered one of the country’s best wine-producing regions

after the Rioja, it is also one of the most ancient viticulture areas in Europe. Through this tour,

we will learn all about the world of wine and Sparkling wine.

Our first stop will be in the winery, you will be welcomed by our local guide, an expert

winemaker. You will start the visit by walking through the vineyards, where they will explain

you all about the history of this millenary winery. You will learn how wine is done, from the

vine to the wine, is where the cycle of transformation of the vine’s fruit begins, a cycle which,

through meticulous work in the vineyards, will shape the different personalities of the wines.

During your walk by the vineyards, you will visit the Romanesque church of San Juan Salem,

inside the property, to get to know one of the historic wine domain. After discovering all about

how wine is done, you will have the opportunity to taste four charming wines in a stylish

tasting room, accompanied by some gourmet delicatessen, to underline the extraordinary

nuances of the wine.

Then, will be time to learn all about sparkling wine (cava), you will visit another historical

winery specialized in cava. You will have an exclusive opportunity to enter the Capella, the

underground caves. Is the unique atmosphere of magical tranquillity created by the bottles in

which this winery longestaged cavas lay sleeping, the essence and tradition of the winemaking

past are alive and well today at this Penedes winery through the use age-old craft practices.

These include the use of the cork stopper, ageing ‘sur lattes’, working the bottles in ‘pupitres’,

and disgorging by hand.
