Sitges, located half an hour’s drive south from Barcelona and blessed with a mild climate,

offers 2 1/2 miles of beach with a delightful sea-front promenade featuring art nouveau

colonial mansions in front of the Mediterranean sea. The enchanting Old Town, perched on a

rocky hill surrounded by splashing waves on the coastline and a cozy beach, takes you to a

sequence of White narrow lanes where you discover a Gothic or Renaissance building every

other step.

Sitges, known by its tolerance, boasts a relaxing atmosphere where all visitors are welcome

regardless of colour, religion or sexual orientation, attracting particularly the European gay

community during the high season. Being home to plenty of artists, illustrious citizens and a

cultural hub since more than a century, this small town has many art galleries and museums.

Among the highlights, the Cau Ferrat museum, the Palau Maricel and the Romantic museum.
