Category: History & Culture, City Discovery Departs: Tirana Min: 2 People to operate Itinerary: The tour starts with hotel pick up at approx 10.00am to be on the road by 10.30, you will be transported in an air-conditioned vehicle to Mount Sarsalltik situated on Kruja Mountain about 6.7 km away from Kruje city. At the Sacred Cave of Sarisalltik – a 13th century Turkish dervish venerated by the Bektashis, you can see a fountain of holy water, the first mosque ever built in Albania – the final resting place of Sarisalltik himself. Enjoy the views over Kruje a visit to the mosque or a coffee in the café with views over the surrounding landscapes. A short drive to Kruje city where we spend time in the Bazaar with the opportunity to shop for local trinkets and witness traditional handmade crafts, instruments, carpets and jewelry. Wooden toys and Albanian souvenirs. Next, we enjoy a sumptuous lunch which is included. You will have a choice of traditional dishes and our guide will provide a beverage of your choice to enjoy over a chat with your fellow travelers. Get your camera ready as we visit the tower a perfect opportunity to enjoy the view. We finish with Skanderbeg Museum. This museum, inside the castle complex, opened in 1982 and its spacious seven-level interior displays replicas of armor and paintings depicting Skanderbeg's struggle against the Ottomans. The museum is something of a secular shrine, and takes itself very seriously indeed, with giant statues and dramatic battle murals. Entrance fees included.
